Feedback is not provided on observations. Homework is not even a requirement at the school. There is a lack of academic accountability for parents and teachers alike. You may find yourself one day being a substitute teacher for a class and then a reading interventionist all in a matter of 30 minutes.ģ. Matchbook Learning (MBL) remains short-staffed with support staff almost everyday. Therefore, classroom teachers are left with very little support to help those students in their academic journeys.Ģ. SPED and ELL students do not receive the necessary support as detailed in their IEPs and ILPs.
Don't listen to the haters and the unfair reviews. I haven't been asked to do anything that the people above me weren't doing either. The leadership team has been around since the beginning, the leaders do what they say they'll do and ask a lot of people. Many of them are inaccurate or just spiteful because individuals couldn't handle the extra complexities of working in a turnaround, but also working a turnaround in a pandemic. The majority of the reviews come from people who struggled during this COVID pandemic thing and are not valid reviews for the work that this school accomplishes each day. The culture is a work hard play hard type of place, where you will have more opportunities for recognition than any other school I've worked at in my 10+ years in education. The school consistently does the difficult work of restarting a low performing school and turning around school culture. Family Atmosphere (don't listen to COVID reviews) I've been at Matchbook Learning in Indianapolis since the start of the 2018 academic year.
